THE ALBUM OF THE DAY
DAMN YANKEES...Damn Yankees (1990)
(CD, Allmusic review)

This album reached number 13 on the U.S. Billboard album charts. I have always thought this was a great listen. "High Enough" alone is reason enough to buy this CD. What a great song! Ted Nugent fits in just fine with the others in the band, as this is probably the "calmest" music he's ever released. Other highlights: "Come Again" and "Runaway". Very recommended

THE ALBUM OF THE DAY
CROSBY, STILLS AND NASH...Crosby Stills And Nash (1969)
(CD, Allmusic review)

This debut album from CS&N reached number 6 on the U.S. Billboard albim charts. Yesterday was the first time ever that I listened to the record from start to finish. What a pleasurable listen. Of course, their vocals are not only very familiar but fantastic, the songs are crafted very well, and so therefore I would recommend this one very much. My fav song of theirs, "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes" is the highlight, along with "Marrakesh Express" and "Guinnevere".

THE ALBUM OF THE DAY
CREAM...Fresh Cream (1966)
(CD, LP, Allmusic review)

This debut release from Cream reached number 39 on the U.S. Billboard album charts. The one I listened to was the US release. As I was listening to this album yesterday I soon realized that I had not ever heard this album in its entirety before. I had heard several of the tracks before, of course. I just had this feeling that it would be better than it is, even tho it still is a very good record. Lots of blues and rock so I enjoyed it and I think you would, too. Recommended, for sure. Highlights: "I Feel Free", "N.S.U." and "I'm So Glad"

RADIOHEAD...The King Of Limbs (2011)
(CD, LP, Allmusic review)

In case you don't know Radiohead is...shall we say, different!! This record is currently number 3 on the U.S. Billboard charts. Radiohead has a big following, as they are very experimental in their music and it can be hypnotic at times. I enjoyed listening to the album, but I would not consider it a great album, I do, however, recommend you check it out as it is...shall we say, different!! "Lotus Flower" was the highlight for me

THE ALBUM OF THE DAY
PAUL McCARTNEY AND WINGS...Wings Over America (1976)
(CD, vinyl, Allmusic review)

This live album reached number 1 on the U.S. Billboard album charts. I listened to this album literally hundreds of times the next few years after its release. First, the songs are terrific. Second, McCartney's vocals are some of the best of his career. Third, Wings guitarist Jimmy McCulloch was an incredible talent. This was the best Wings lineup with Paul, Linda, Denny Laine, Jimmy and Joe English. Highlights for me are "Soily", "Letting Go" and "Medicine Jar" (which may be some of the best bass playing McCartney has ever played). Highly recommended.
