2002 Robbin Crosby of Ratt dies of a heroin overdose in Los Angeles, California. Crosby was 42
2004 Lars Ulrich of Metallica is put into the hospital and Steven Tyler from Aerosmith is also put into the hospital, both on the same day
2006 Billy Preston dies in Scottsdale, Arizona at the age of 59
2006 Rockford by Cheap Trick is released
2007 Bono of U2 meets with President Bush and German Chancellor Angela Merkel prior to the start of the G8 Summit in Heiligendamm, Germany. That same day Richie Sambora of Bon Jovi checks into an L.A. detox facility following the taping of Bon Jovi's MTV Unplugged in New York
