CREAM...Wheels Of Fire (1968)
Wheels Of Fire, the third album from Cream, was released 45 years ago in 1968. It reached number 1 on the U.S. Billboard album charts. The double album starts off with the classic "White Room," which we've all heard and love with that infectious bass groove from Jack Bruce. The rest of disc 1 is ok. Eric Clapton's guitar playing is fantastic, as usual. Disc 2 is a live disc that includes spectacular versions of "Crossroads" and "Spoonful." This is where Clapton shines on the guitar. Side 4 has a rather long and tedious drum solo from Jack Bruce on "Toad." Overall, I'll give it a 2 1/2 out of 5 stars
