On this date in 1968 David Gilmour plays his first Pink Floyd gig. In 1980 Paul McCartney is released from jail in Tokyo, Japan after serving 10 days for possession of marijuana that was found in his luggage as he and his band, Wings, were arriving for a Japanese tour which, obviously, had to be cancelled. In 1999 in Oakland, California the Rolling Stones begin their No Security tour.
