THE ALBUM OF THE DAY
LIVING COLOUR...Vivid  (1988)
Vivid, the debut album from Living Colour, was released 25 years ago today in 1988.  It reached number 6 on the U.S. Billboard album charts.  I give this a 3 out of 5 stars.  In 1988 the hard rock/heavy metal scene was being dominated by the Guns 'N' Roses/Cinderella/Poison/Motley Crue crowd.  Then came along Living Colour.  They were different and unique but yet MTV and the public accepted them.  I thought they were a jammin' band.  The single "Cult Of Personality" was for sure the highlight of the album.  I quite enjoyed "Open Letter (To A Landlord)" also.  "Funny Vibe was the only track I couldn't get into, otherwise a different and unique and exciting album for 1988
