Check out the Rock Genre New Releases

THE ALBUM OF THE DAY
HEART...Magazine  (1978)
Magazine was released 35 years ago in April 1978.  It reached number 17 on the U.S. Billboard album charts.   This is a very cool record, I'll give it a 3 out of 5 stars.  Heart was recently inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, and deservedly so.  One of the highlights of the album is their cover of "Without You," made famous by Harry Nilsson and later by Mariah Carey but originally recorded by Badfinger.  This version is quite excellent.  Other highlights include the hit single "Heartless" and the title track "Magazine."  The album had originally been released in 1977 but Heart and their management had a disagreement with their label Mushroom Records.  What few records that made it to the shelf were pulled and destroyed.  Heart then signed with Portrait Records and then the album was "finished" and remixed and here we are, 35 years later and still jammin' to it.
