January 11

THE ALBUM OF THE DAY
GEORGE HARRISON...Extra Texture (Read All About It) (1975)
(CD, vinyl, Allmusic review)
When this album came out in 1975 the critics just hated it. To this day I have never figured out why as this is a very good record. Even the Allmusic review is favorable, giving it 3 1/2 out of 5 stars. Highlights for me are "Ooh Baby (You Know That I Love You)", "This Guitar (Can't Keep From Crying)" and "The Answer's At The End". If you're a Beatles fan, a George Harrison fan or a soft rock fan you'll enjoy this album and I recommend it for your collection. Extra Texture peaked at number 8 on the US Billboard album charts, and so far, unfortunately, has not been remastered
