THE ALBUM OF THE DAY
JIMI HENDRIX... People, Hell And Angels  (2013)
People, Hell And Angels was released in 2013 and is currently at number 2 on the U.S. Billboard album charts.   The Hendrix estate recently released this collection of tracks, had them cleaned up and remastered and they sound fantastic.  Interesting to note is that most of the tracks have not even been heard by most bootleggers.  This is not the ultimate Hendrix album but it is still a fantastic record, and Jimi's guitar is heard throughout the record. The solo heard in "Hear My Train a Comin'"  is incredible. Check out his guitar work on "Hey Gypsy Boy." One of the more interesting tracks is "Let Me Move You", a funky jam with saxaphone and guitar solos, reminds me of Sly and The Family Stone.  A great version of "Izabella" with a searing guitar solo.  This set is definitely worth your time and is, therefore, highly recommended with a 4 out of 5 stars.
