THE ALBUM OF THE DAY
CHRIS REA...New Light Through Old Windows: The Best Of Chris Rea  (1988)
New Light Through Old Windows: The Best Of Chris Rea was released 25 years ago in 1988.  It reached number 92 on the U.S. Billboard album charts.  It is recommended with a rating of 3 out of 5 stars.  How many of you remember Chris Rea?  I had not ever listened to a Chris Rea album before so I thought it would be cool to check out one of his albums so I chose this compilation album.  I was pleasantly surprised when the second track played, 'Working On It.'  Whoa, I've heard a Chris Rea song before.  I used to hear this track on KFMX from Lubbock, Texas and, sure enough, as I did some research I find it reached number 1 on the Mainstream Rock charts.  That turned out to be my highlight.  I am impressed with Rea's vocals and the rest of the album was a pleasant listen.  'Stainsby Girls' and 'On The Beach' were also highlights.  Check it out if you like pop rock
