THE ALBUM OF THE DAY
THE ROLLING STONES...Goats Head Soup  (1973)
Goats Head Soup was released 40 years ago in 1973 and reached number 1 on the U.S. Billboard album charts.  I give this a 4 1/2 out of 5 stars.  It is a great album.  Some folks feel like this was the first album of theirs that started their decline of not-so-good records, as their previous album was the much loved Exile On Main Street.  I, for one, disagree with this assessment, as the band was to release some excellent albums in the future.  Goats Head Soup has some great tracks on it, with the highlights being "Angie" (a brilliant track),  "Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo (Heartbreaker)" and "Dancing With Mr. D." Highly recommended.

1970¡¯s- Natural makeup was all the rage in the early 70¡¯s, brought over from the late 1960¡¯s. When the disco scene hit, women once again wanted color and lots of it! Metallic eye shadows, glitter and bold eye shadows, glossy lips, and the flipped hairstyle were very popular. Cat suits, halter dresses, granny dress with lace collars and midi, maxi and mini dresses made their mark along with hot pants. Bell bottoms reached their largest ¡°bell¡± in 1975. Yves Saint Laurent helped bring fashions from foreign countries mainstream. For disco, shiny tight Lycra pants in wild colors, leopard skin, sequins and bandeau tops were the thing to wear in the clubs under the ever popular black lights and disco balls.

For a more day-time appropriate pop of colour, I plump for Gosh Volume Lip Shine lipgloss in either Juicy Orange or Soft Coral. Its consistency is relatively thin and not sticky, resulting in a fairly hassle free application.
