THE ALBUM OF THE DAY
THE DOOBIE BROTHERS...Takin' It To The Streets (1976)
(CD, vinyl, Allmusic review)

The 6th studio album from the Doobie's, which reached to number 8 on the US Billboard album charts back in 1976. I'm sure you are familiar with the singles, the title track "Takin' It To The Streets" and "It Keeps You Runnin'", both of which Michael McDonald takes the lead vocal as this was the first DB record that McDonald appeared on. I recently bought a vinyl copy and I enjoyed it, never having paid attention to it before. I really enjoyed "Wheels Of Fortune" and the scorching double guitar solos in "8th Avenue Shuffle". All Doobie fans will enjoy this one a lot. If you like pop-rock sounds I would highly recommend it. Definitely a classic!
