The ALBUM OF THE DAY
ALICE IN CHAINS...Facelift (1990)
(CD, Allmusic review)

The debut CD from Alice In Chains reached number 42 on the U.S. Billboard album chart. First off, let me just say that "Man In The Box" is the best song the band has ever done. That track alone is worth purchasing the CD. The rest of the album doesn't compare to "Man In The Box" but there are still some good tracks here, including "Sea Of Sorrow" and "Bleed The Freak". Alice In Chains, in my opinion, was the best new hard rock/grunge band to come out of the 90's (I know most folks disagree). If you've never heard this one check it out, it rocks. Some of the songs are kinda slow but still have that 'edge'. Recommended
